Condition of Ghana's Ambassador in Moscow

MOSCOW - - The condition of Ghana's Ambassador in Moscow Francis Yahaya Mahamma who was attacked by hooligans on November 7 is normal, RIA Novosti was told at the Embassy of that country in Moscow on Sunday.

On Thursday a group of young men made a hooligan attack on Francis Yahaya Mahamma in the Poklonnaya Gora area, as a result of which he received bodily injuries.

The prosecutor's office of the Western administrative area of Moscow launched a criminal case under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. An investigation is underway. The Russian law enforcement bodies are making energetic efforts to detain the participants in the attack on the Ambassador of Ghana.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphatically condemned the attack and noted that scurvy tricks of this kind "do damage to the prestige of Russia as a country of traditional hospitality and respectful attitude to representatives of foreign states".

In Moscow they hope that this incident will not tell on relations between Russia and Ghana which "are of a long-time friendly character".
