A communications team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has condemned the actions of some police personnel in the Ablekuma North constituency, describing it as “crude policing.”
He called for the immediate removal of the police officers involved in the condemned action from the polling station.
In a post shared on X on July 11, 2025, Aboagye alleged that those officers are National Democratic Congress (NDC) hoodlums in uniforms invading polling stations and intimidating journalists.
“Such NDC hoodlums in police uniforms should be removed from the polling stations without fail. This is 2025, and such crude policing cannot be entertained. The physical attack on our media is becoming too much,” he stated.
Miracles Aboagye further warned that the attacks on media personnel are paving the way for the rise of violence, stating, “This is how violence is bred.
“IGP should find this officer and take disciplinary actions against him immediately.! Completely shameful, too much."
Eligible voters in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency are casting their votes to end the long-standing dispute and restore parliamentary representation to the area.
The rerun is to address an existing electoral dispute dating back to the December 7, 2024, elections.
