About 30 communities in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District are to be connected to the national grid to enhance development in the area.

The project, which formed part of government’s rural electrification programme, is to ensure that hard to reach communities have access to electricity.

The beneficiary communities would include: Adofo, Abotanso, Adukro, Sebia, Anidzi, Atiwulame, Wodidiada, Bethel, Mem, Richardkope, Kofi Nyina, Mafikope, Kamalo, Kayera among others.

Speaking at a maiden meeting of the Assembly at Donkorkrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District, Mr Samuel Kena, the District Chief Executive said the project had already started in some of the communities and assured that the assembly would provide the needed support to ensure the success of the project to help promote the socio-economic activities of the people.

He said government’s goal was to provide every community with its fair share of development.

He said the assembly had provided over 400 bulbs for the streetlights, which had been installed in the communities.

Mr Kena therefore entreated the people to cooperate and support the contractors to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
