Communities in Gomoa to benefit from training

One Hundred and Eighty-Four towns and villages in the Gomoa East and West Districts of the Central Region, are to benefit from a special training programme on First Aid activities initiated by the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS).

The training forms part of a long-term health care development plan being implemented by the GRCS, to raise the health status of people living in rural communities.

Mr Justice Peter Ansah, Gomoa East and West Districts Organizer of the Red Cross who announced this at Gomoa Ankamu, said the programme would also cover proper hand washing procedure with the necessary hand washing materials.

He said each of the beneficiary towns and villages would provide at least four representatives, for the First Aid Training Programme, adding that 24 communities had already benefited from the hand washing educational program, and had been provided with handing washing equipment.

Mr Ansah was happy with the level of understanding of the chiefs and other opinion leaders in the two districts about Red Cross operations, and urged them to maintain it.
