Commentary - Rebecca Is Desperate Like Her Husband

Desperation on the part of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Williams Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to become the President of Ghana is virtually eating deep into his household.

With his “At All Costs”agenda on the mind of his better half, Rebecca Akufo Addo, the woman has started talking like the husband and the top notch of the party.

Knowing the husband for who he is, Aunty Becky should be the last person to talk about a leader who is decisive.

But the never -to -be First Lady hit town exalting the desperate husband as decisive and must therefore be voted for to become the President for her to become the First Lady.

No worries at all, she knows the husband more than any other person and can therefore say anything about him. But the truth of the matter is that Akufo Addo is never decisive. His own people say he cannot take bold decision on persons around him who are scattering his campaign towards his retirement from active politics. Is Aunty Becky not aware that the husband could simply not fire persons who squandered his money that was meant to prepare the grounds for one of the trips to Tamale in the Northern Region?

Again, is Aunty Becky not aware that her husband could not take decisive action against people who run down his campaign down in 2008?

Madam, it is every woman’s duty to support the husband in his quest to achieve an aim that would in no small way change the status of their household. However, in doing so, care must be taken not to dress the husband in borrowed clothes.

Trumpeting your husband as a decisive person definitely makes you dishonest and insincere because you know very well that Akufo Addo is not decisive. Indeed, it would be extremely fantastic for Aunty Becky to school the husband on how to be decisive, instead of portraying him to be one when he is not. Your effort to help your husband to achieve what is not possible should not make you exaggerate things.

Do not say things that you know too well are the exact opposite of Akufo Addo because it can be bad to health (All apologies to Akufo Addo).

Aunty Becky, please do not fix Akufo Addo under too much public derision in your desperate attempt to become the First Lady of this republic.

There are lots of good things you know about your husband but to claim that he is decisive is not simply true.

Take closer stock of the happenings around him and look at how best you could describe him instead of the false claim that he is decisive.
