As a body in-search of true democracy, we will be the first to condemn any attempt on the part of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and all successive governments, if they had attempted to sabotage women and deny them contribution of their quota to the developmental agenda of this country. That is why we shall forever salute President Mills and his NDC.
At the unveiling of the NDC manifesto prior to the December 2008 general elections at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, President Mills, then the flagbearer of the ruling party, made a solemn promise that his government will give the opportunity to a certain percentage of women to actively participate in his administration; he has fulfilled this.
Even though, the quota promised cannot be said to be exact, President Mills has received much commendation for keeping to his pledge; But the behaviour of some of the women placed at very strategic positions like Madam Theodora Georgina Wood, is appalling.
Yes, ex-President Agyekum Kofi Diawuo Kufuor appointed Georgina Wood as the Chief Justice (CJ), but un-revengefully and ever-forgiving as President Mills is, and have all the time made this known as ‘father of all’, unlike the ‘proceed on leave’ syndrome of the erstwhile Kufuor administration, where people perceived to be sympathizers of the NDC were haunted out of office like chicken, the CJ was allowed to stay in office; and has since enjoy the support of the President and his government.
As if the way and manner Theodora Georgina Wood has been cuddled by the ruling NDC government is not enough motivation for her to be resolute, and not fall prey to the dirty pranks of her NPP masters after all the attempts and bragging by Atta Akyea, that she can be manipulated to achieve injunction placed on the 2008 general elections; and subsequently be able to prevent Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan and his Electoral Commission (EC) from declaring the elections results because she was his (Akyea’s) sister-in-law, this woman has still not learn to say no to the wrongful demands of her masters.
Even interestingly enough, the Judiciary has become worse and more corrupt with rulings always twisted to favour NPP members who are standing trial, for one offence or the other, and we one wonders what is happening.
In fact, the Judiciary has totally lost its credibility, following how the NPP legal-hawks, led by the CJ herself have decided to deliver justice in this country; and this to us, is enough evidence for her to be removed from office, or face the consequences as we move to unleash our ‘arsenal’ on her, few days to come.
It will only be a repetition of events if we go over the activities of the Georgina Wood and her men, since all the occurrences are as fresh as yesterday in the minds of everybody.
The recent court ruling by Mr. Eric Kyei Baffour, to us, was the final straw that breaks the camel’s back, and by that we demand the immediate resignation of the CJ, since she has proven not to be in-charge of the body she heads. Though, we have stated our candid position that Kyei Baffour and the court registrar, Yusif Seidu be picked up for investigations, it is equally important that the Chief Justice resigns, since her continuous presence as the head of the judicial service will still work against the investigations to be conducted. We now know how the cocaine exhibit taken away from the police and placed under the custody of Eric Kyei Baffour and co. has mysteriously turned into washing soda through vivid accounts received from the police, unlike what media reports made Ghanaians believe.
Of all this, one thing The Informer is demanding from the Chief Justice is that, she resign now, since the actions and inactions of Kyei Baffour and his men have further confirmed how corrupt the judiciary is, in it strenuous effort to work against President Mills and his government .
Madam Theodora Georgina Woods; resign now and save your image, if you want to be remembered in the judicial records of this country, period!!
