Coffee Shop Mafia divided

over ‘Ahobrasihene’ John Mahama as EGBERT, BAAKO ENDORSE NANA ADDO

By: Alhaji Bature Iddrisu

It has now emerged following our story nearly two weeks ago that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2012 flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo is mad with the Coffee Shop Mafia (CSM) for switching support to NDC’s President John Ahobrasihene Mahama that, not all members of the CSM are after all rooting for the NDC candidate.

At least The Al-Hajj can today confirm that two senior journalists associated with the CSM, Lawyer Egbert Faibille, Managing Editor of the Ghanaian Observer and Mr. Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide have maintained their allegiance to the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo. Reacting to The Al-Hajj’s front page story with the heading: ‘Ahobrasihene’ Prez John Mahama’s First Magic… ‘OLU’ AKUFO ADDO MAD AT COFFEE SHOP MAFIA …As they root for John Mahama Presidency, Mr. Egbert Faibille in a telephone conversation queried; “who told you that I have thrown my support for John Mahama…? Lawyer Egbert Faibille who claimed he is the Head of Intelligence and Operations of the CSM continued; “look let me make it abundantly clear that although John Mahama is my friend, my full support in the upcoming elections is for Nana Akufo Addo, I support Nana Addo because I believe he will be a better president and that has nothing to do with my friendship with John”. According to the Managing Editor of the Ghanaian Observer, he is not the only member rooting for the NPP candidate and that, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Mr. Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako Jnr is also for Nana Addo. “Do you know that Kweku is also rooting for Nana Adoo? You see, the fact that we (CSM) are together we don’t determine for one another how to vote or whom to support. Indeed, we don’t normally discuss such topics as a group.” Egbert explained.

Mr. Egbert Faibille further told The Al-Hajj that, he as Head of Intelligence and Operations of the Coffee Shop Mafia expects that the media will contact him in all matters pertaining to the operations of the group.

It will be recall that The Al-Hajj in its 73rd edition published on Tuesday 21st August, 2012 reported that the office of the presidential candidate of the opposition NPP, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo is seething with anger against the Coffee Shop Mafia.

According to the report, the long-standing ‘marriage’ between the New Patriotic Party, principally, the office of its 2012 flag bearer, ‘Olu’ Nana Akufo Addo and the Coffee Shop Mafia who have been known allies of the NPP, is heading to the rocks following their reported dalliance with NDC’s John Mahama.
