Clara Arthur takes over as CEO of GhIPSS from September 1

Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS), a subsidiary of the Bank of Ghana, has announced Clara B Arthur as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025.

Arthur brings years of experience in finance and technology, having held top positions at Fidelity Bank Ghana, the Ecobank Group, and E Process International SA.

She has also served as a consultant, supporting organisations with IT and payment solutions.

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Chairman of the GhIPSS Board, Dr Johnson Asiama, expressed confidence in her appointment, stating,

“We are confident that Mrs. Arthur will bring a fresh perspective and strategic vision to GhIPSS, and will help lead the institution into the next phase of growth and success.”

Arthur said she is honoured to take on the role and is excited to return to GhIPSS.

She added that she looks forward to working with the team to build on past successes and shape the future of digital payments in Ghana.

The company also expressed its gratitude to Archie Hesse, the outgoing CEO, for his years of dedicated service and leadership.

Established in 2007, GhIPSS is fully owned by the Bank of Ghana. Its mandate is to develop and manage payment systems that enable banks and other financial service providers in Ghana to operate seamlessly.

The company plays a crucial role in advancing digital payments and promoting financial inclusion.
