The late Ghanaian phone dealer, Terry Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero, has, over the past few days, been the topic of conversation on social media following reports of his tragic death.

It all started on September 20, 2026, when reports and images surfaced on social media suggesting that the phone dealer, who used to conduct his business at Circle, had gone missing.

According to reports gathered by GhanaWeb, the late Terry informed his close associates about a phone deal he was going to conduct in Teshie.

Leaked chat between Terry and his friend

After news circulated on social media about the disappearance of the late Terry, a conversation he had with his close friend and business partner, identified as Suave, also surfaced online.

In the chat, Terry, who had initially told his friends about a phone he was delivering to Teshie, confirmed to Suave that a lady he had been communicating with had invited him over to her place.

The late Terry stated in the chat that the lady, whom he had been chatting with for some time, had invited him over to Teshie.

Alleged spiked wine

Also in the same conversation, the late Dinero was seen sharing his live location and a video of the room he was in to his friend, asking him to take note of his last seen location in case anything happened to him.

The late Terry was also seen in the conversation noting that he had been offered wine, which his friend suspected had made him drunk.

At around 12:30 AM, Terry, in the same conversation, told his friend he had been set up and that some soldiers were present in the room.

Around 3:41 AM, he sent another message noting that the issue involving the said soldiers had been resolved and that he was on his way home.

Report of stolen vehicle

According to reports gathered, images of the late Terry and his missing Honda Civic, with DV plate number B9055, surfaced online.

A mechanic reportedly called the police to inform them that an individual identified as Philip Tefe had requested that he spray-paint the vehicle and conduct a maintenance check on it.

Suspects’ arrest

Reports gathered so far by GhanaWeb indicate that the alleged suspect posing as a soldier, whom Terry mentioned in his conversation with Suave, has been identified as Philip Tefe and is reported to have had a hand in the death of Dinero.

Reports indicate that the late Terry was allegedly catfished by Philip Tefe, who is said to have posed as the lady involved in the incident.

Another individual, whose identity has not been revealed by the police, has also been arrested and is currently undergoing investigation.

Terry’s family debunks false allegations

Amid the ongoing investigations surrounding the tragic death of Terry Yaw Kyere, a lady identified as Maame Sika Edem, who claims to be the sister of the late Terry, has taken to social media to issue a stern warning to individuals spreading false information about the phone dealer’s death.

According to her, the late Dinero was not a rogue person, and individuals spreading false rumours concerning his death should refrain from doing so.

The sister of Nana Yaw Terry has issued a strong warning to people allegedly spreading misinformation about his death.

She cautioned that Nana Yaw is from the Volta Region and warned those spreading false information to stop.
