A Kumasi-based pastor, Emmanuel Sowu, is at the centre of a storm after a shocking revelation on Sompa TV's popular domestic show Sompa Nkomo.
The pastor, who is married with children, has been accused by church singer Akosua Bless Mawuli of infecting her with HIV/AIDS.
The episode, hosted by controversial Ghanaian presenter Oheneni Adazoa, featured both the alleged victim, her family and Pastor Sowu, who admitted to having a sexual relationship with the young woman.
According to Akosua, she first learned of her health status through a prophecy made by the pastor himself. While she had not been attending church that day, her siblings relayed that Pastor Sowu had claimed in a vision that she had a deadly disease and needed urgent testing.
“He told my family he had seen in a vision that I was sick and would die if I didn’t run a test,” she recalled.
Following this prophecy, Akosua went for a medical examination, which confirmed she had contracted HIV.

Akosua recounted that her sexual relationship with the pastor began after a church programme in Ho, where they shared a guesthouse.
"We went for a programme in Ho and got there late at night. The pastor booked a guesthouse, but only one. After eating, he called me over to check something on his phone. It was a picture of a lady in a short skirt and he asked if I could dress like her then I said no, he started making advances toward me and eventually slept with me," she revealed.
A few days after the encounter, Akosua began experiencing health complications.
“After my affair with the pastor, I noticed I was urinating frequently and felt pains anytime I urinated. That's when I knew something was wrong,” she said.
Akosua’s mother, Maame Abena Mawuli, explained why she brought the issue to Sompa Nkomo, "We all worship at the pastor's church, and my husband sometimes even takes care of the congregation in his absence.
"When he gave the prophecy about my daughter's health, we were very worried and wanted to confirm the truth," she said.
The pastor had initially claimed that Akosua contracted HIV from her boyfriend, but the young man has since tested negative.
Further investigations revealed that Akosua was also involved with the church keyboardist, who is yet to undergo testing. However, she insisted she already had symptoms before that relationship began.
Pastor Emmanuel Sowu appeared on the live programme and confessed to sleeping with Akosua, expressing remorse for his actions.
"I admit that I slept with her, and I am very sorry. I even gave her money to run the test," he said.
The pastor is yet to conduct an HIV test to confirm his status, and according to the show host, if he is confirmed positive, he may be compelled to marry Akosua in addition to his wife.
