"Christmas, a time for unusual happenings and hope"- Rev Minister

Accra, Dec. 24, GNA - The Reverend Kingsley Kwaku Gyekye, Pastor in Charge of the Asylum Down Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, on Wednesday, described the Christmas season as a time for unusual happenings that brings hope.

He therefore called on Christians to have hope even if they were experiencing challenges that seemed unusual. He explained that about 2009 years ago when Christ was born, there were a lot of unusual happenings, saying "how unusual it was for a virgin to be pregnant."

Rev. Gyekye said this at a carols night programme organized by the church to usher in activities marking the Christmas celebrations. He stressed that even though it was unusual for a virgin to become pregnant, she gave birth to a child, who had become a hope to the world. Rev. Gyekye further urged Christians to focus on Christ as the centre of the celebrations.

"No matter your circumstance and the unusual happenings in your life this season, remember that Christ gives hope, so there is hope," he said.
