Chief suggests dialogue between Kufuor and Rawlings

Kade, Jan 23, GNA- Barima Gyakorang Adutwum 11, Chief of Kade in the Kwaebibirim District, has suggested that there should be a dialogue between former President Jerry John Rawlings and President John Agyekum Kufuor before the elections.

Barima Gyakorang Adutwum said the Council of State could invite traditional rulers, leaders of religious bodies and opinion leaders to meet the former President and the sitting President for dialogue. He said this at an Akwasidae festival held at Kade at the weekend. ''The meeting could include top ranking party functionaries of the NPP and the NDC for discussions for the sake of free elections and the security of the country'', he said.

Barima Gyakorang Adutwum said the meeting could educate members of political parties about politics being a game of ''friendliness and not for hatred, rancour or bitterness.''

He said that would foster good relations among the parties and would assist them to take either accept failure during the elections in good faith.
