Chief of Staff Prosper Bani has failed

The NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Manso Adubia in the Ashanti Region has chastised the Chief of Staff at the Presidency for his seeming inability to settle the dispute between the Minister of Children, Gender and Social Protection, Nana Oye-Lithur and one of her deputies, Rachel Florence Appoh.

Sharing his thought on the fracas during a panel discussion on NEAT FM, Hon. Yaw Addo Frimpong was of the conviction that giving the level at which the issue has risen to; the extent that Chiefs would have to come in and call for a settlement of the matter, it sends only one signal, and that is “someone is not working”.

“This should not have gotten to this extent. This is on the doorstep of the Chief of Staff. I am so surprised this issue has gotten to this point, honestly. It means somebody is not working…that is the bottom line,” The MP for Manso Adubia opined.

He made these comments on the heels of calls by the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Traditional Area for a resolution to an impasse between the Rachel Florence Appoh and her boss Nana Oye-Lithur, in which the latter allegedly threatened to jail the former.

According to Hon. Yaw Addo Frimpong, the Chief of Staff is responsible for resolving an issue of this nature and called on him to explore avenues for a quick settlement between the two, who have been given the duty of championing the cause of women and children by the state.
