Chief appeals to Kennedy Agyapong to honour his pledge by completing school building

Chief of Assin Basofinigo, Nana Tetteh Ako Sackey is calling on government and for that matter, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapog, MP for Assin Central to complete an uncompleted school building that he had started building some years ago.

The chief referred Mr. Ohene Agyapong started the project somewhere 2008 and is yet to near completion. The A/B Local Council School was originally built in the year 1970 and is now in a deplorable state making it unfriendly for teaching and learning.

What bothers much is the facility is an examination centre for the area. What more, the students population has grown large as compared to the fifty decades that it was built. This is what has brought up the need to send an SOS signal to authorities. ‘’Since this school was constructed in 1970, we have not seen the construction of any other school.

This is an examination centre and so, we are struggling. The number of BECE candidates has also increased significantly. We are struggling to construct another building.

The one we had and planned rebuilding had its roof ripped off by a heavy storm recently. We are appealing to government to intervene because this is an A and B school.’’

‘’We are also appealing to Kennedy Agyapong to come over and complete the building he started for us some years ago. This is a passionately appeal.

He made a promise to construct a school building for us, he laid the foundation in 2008 but the project has stalled. We cannot allow any other person to continue the building because Kennedy Agyapong made the promise to complete the building.

We want him to complete the building so we will appreciate him. The completion of the building will go a long way to help the community,’’ he concluded. By: Daniel Asuku/Rashid O. Provencal
