Chief Justice to attend workshop for African Chief Justices

Accra, Aug. 21, GNA - The Chief Justice, Mrs Justice Georgina Wood, leaves Accra on Saturday for Dublin, Ireland, to participate in the 13th Annual Workshop for African Chief Justices and senior judiciary from August 24-27.

A statement signed by Mr D.A. Kwapong, Director of Communication of the Judicial Service, said the workshop, being organised by the Trinity College of Dublin, had several sub-themes including Administrative Justice and Judicial Review.

The statement said the workshop was an opportunity for African Chief Justices to interact with their peers from other jurisdictions, exchange ideas and share experience and for future cooperation involving the judiciaries of Africa.

She will be accompanied by Mr Justice Francis Kusi-Appiah, an Appeal Court judge.

The statement said the Chief Justice, at the invitation of the Ghana High Commission, would address a forum in London on "The Role of Judiciary in Ghana". The programme under the auspices of the Ghana High Commission and Ghana Union in the UK and Ireland would be held on August 28. 21 Aug. 09
