The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise scheduled on Tuesday, July 8 and 9, 2025, which will lead to temporary power outages in parts of the Greater Accra, Tema, and Volta Regions.
The maintenance is part of ECG’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and improve power reliability.
As a result, selected communities will experience intermittent power interruptions between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, depending on the specific location.
In a series of public notices issued over the weekend, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) outlined the specific areas that will be affected by scheduled maintenance-related power outages on July 8 and 9 2025.
The company has apologised for any inconvenience the scheduled maintenance may cause and assured customers that the exercise is essential to improving the reliability and efficiency of the power supply network.
“The ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the notice stated.
The ECG has further advised residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and plan their activities accordingly to minimise the impact of the outage.

In the Greater Accra Region, maintenance will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Affected communities include: Accra New Town Revenue Centre, Mallam Atta Junction, Kpehe, Adenta New Site, West Africa Senior High School (WASS), Adenta Sakora, Kenkey House, Mandela, South McCarthy Hill, SCC, Sunny Coast, Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie, Ayikai Doblo, Mallam Junction, Weija Junction, White Cross, Choice, Sampa Valley, Kingshasha, Korkordjor, Kaisa Valley, Domi CFC and surrounding areas.
In the Tema Region, the works will occur between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, affecting Mobole, Otsebreku, Okushibri, Apollonia, Jerusalem, Kubekro, Katamanso, Promised Land, Elegant Homes, and the Data Centre and its surrounding areas.
In the Volta Region, planned maintenance will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During this period, power supply will be interrupted in parts of Klefe, the Sky Plus Hotel area, Microwave, Taviefe, Matse, Dzologborgame, Akoviefe, Klave, Shia, Nyive, and surrounding communities.

In the Greater Accra Region, the following areas will be affected: Madina Nsamanpom, Madina Market, Teshie Agblezaa, Club Depot, Dzorwulu, Awoshie, Odorkor, Gbawe, Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, Gbawe Top Base, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Shiabu, Beach Road and surrounding areas.
In the Tema Region, power will be interrupted in Afariwaa Junction, Sanco 4, Yellow Signboard, Michel Camp Gate, Kakasunaka Number 1, Gbetsile, Soldier Line, Vienna City, Community 9 and nearby communities. The planned maintenance in this zone will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
For residents in the Volta Region, the scheduled outage will affect Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, the 66 Artillery Training Centre and surrounding communities.
