The Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Dr. Gilbert Buckle has said the tensions that have engulfed the hospital in recent times are indications that his transformation agenda is on course.

According to him, he has resolved to effect proper administrative transformation at the facility in order to improve its governance structure.

Senior staff of Korle Bu are on a collision course with the management of the hospital following some administrative changes that are currently ongoing. The aggrieved medical staff are in court over an alleged decision by the management to dismiss some of them.

Speaking to Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Monday, Dr. Buckle said he will confront and defeat the corruption at the hospital before he leaves office.

“I would love to be remembered for eliminating the corruption and already, we have started by plugging loopholes, making sure that revenues are collected using official government receipt. I need to say that in the last 8 to 9 months, we have recorded a total lodgment of about GHC1.2 million,” he stated.

He continued: “I also want to be remembered for the transformation. Where a time will come, you and I will enter Korle Bu and you don’t have to know anybody for you to be able to get the services you want. And it is this transformation process which we have begun and like I said these are winds of change that all of us at Korle Bu are going through and people are reacting and responding in very different ways.

"But for us; myself, the board and management, it is a good sign that there is a lot of this noise coming from the senior staff because then it means the transformation process is affecting the system in places that we want it to”.
