Celebrating The Life Of The Late Jesse Princess Amachoe Tackie-A.K.A Nii Bi.

Chicago July 2 2016: Members of the Ghanaian community in Chicago continued the tradition of supporting each other when they came in large numbers to support Mrs. Juliet Owusu and her family in celebrating the life of the late Jessie Amachoe Tackie. Princess Jessie Amachoe Tackie, aka "Nii Bi" bka Maa Jessie, was born on December 14, 1936 to Nii Tackie Tawiah II, 24th Ga Manste (known in private life as Solomon Nii Adu Tackie) and Mary Amanuah Acquah of Otublohum. She was the granddaughter of Nii Saka, Mankralo of Sempe, both of blessed memory. The late Jessie Amachoe Tackie was the mother of Juliet Owusu, wife of Samuel Owusu, known for his video skills in the Chicago Ghanaian community.
The South Central Community Center popularly called 83rd and Ellis hosted over 400 celebrants coming from States within the USA, Canada, Ghana and others. The following were narration in her biography; "The late Jessie Tackie was a God-fearing woman who took her devotion and religious practices very serious. She believed in the teachings of the Lord, especially in giving and helping those in need. Maa Jessie believed as the bible says "it is more blessing to give than to receive" and indeed she was a cheerful giver who always gave with her signature radiant smile.".
The late Jessie Tackie was a member of the Ga-Adangbe Community Organization and the African Community United Methodist Church, ACUMC, whilst she was in Chicago. Members of both organizations paid glowing tribute to her generosity, selflessness and devotion to their organizations on countless times. "Call her day or night and Maa Jessie would be there for you" a member of the United African Methodist Church recounted. Members of the ACUMC wrote in their tribute to Jesse Tackie "She offered her advice to both the clergy and the members of ACUMC. She was very instrumental in implementing the Traditional Methodist Tree of Life cloth in the Church. Maa Jessie donated uniforms to the ushers and sets of beautiful alter decoration covers."
