Cedi records mixed performance against dollar, pound and euro

The Ghana cedi has recently recorded mixed movements against the major international currencies as of Thursday, October 1, 2026, according to the latest Bank of Ghana (BoG) interbank rates.

The cedi strengthened slightly against the US dollar but weakened against the British pound.

The euro, however, declined against the cedi.

The average interbank rate for the US dollar stood at GH¢11.7100, compared with GH¢11.7150 recorded the previous day.

The dollar was quoted at GH¢11.7041 for buying and GH¢11.7159 for selling.

The pound sterling, on the other hand, rose to an average rate of GH¢15.4871, from GH¢15.4521 previously.

The pound was quoted at GH¢15.4787 for buying and GH¢15.4954 for selling, representing an increase of about GH¢0.0350 in its average rate.

The euro recorded a decline, with its average interbank rate falling to GH¢13.1760 from GH¢13.2276.

The euro was quoted at GH¢13.1700 for buying and GH¢13.1820 for selling, representing a decline of about GH¢0.0516.
