Cash-for-Seat-Saga: Truth will always come out – Alban Bagbin

The 2nd deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, says he believes the truth about all corruption allegations levelled against the government by the Minority in Parliament will come out.

His comment comes after the report from the committee set up by Parliament to investigate the cash-for-seat-saga cleared the Ministry of Trades of all allegations levelled against them.

According to the longest-serving Member of Parliament, Alban Bagbin contends there is an unravelled truth in the claims by the minority.

Speaking in an interview with Ultimate News, Mr Bagbin lamented, “this issue of clearance, I don’t know where it is coming from and there are a lot of things still hanging but I know posterity will judge all of us and at the end of the day the truth will always come out. Because like a cock, you cannot immerse it in water.”

Making reference to a few of the impasses, Alban Bagbin recounted “A number of instances have been cited and those areas are too deep we will need to produce more evidence. The Mahama Ayariga case was a cause for vigilance and that case was quite mysterious because two friends came out with the issue. For who spoke the truth, the verdict is outside there.”

“When you talk about the Ken Bond Saga clearly when you read the report of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, the minister of finance has been indicted on many areas. If he had been cleared of any wrong doing, he wouldn’t have gone to court to challenge the findings.”

Making a clarion call on politicians, the law maker urged, “politicians must as much as possible be truthful, honest, stay clean and try to claw back the lost trust that our followers have in us. That is what can save Ghana.”
