The Director of Akwaaba Zorg Inc.(Netherlands), Doris Vidda, has pledged to provide support for children with special needs at the Osu Children's Home in Accra.
The Netherland-based Ghanaian said the support will be in a form of capacity building for Care Givers at the children’s home.
Madam Doris Vidda, who is in charge of the social working team with a core mandate to give dignified life to Africans/Dutch diaspora, made the commitment when she visited the Osu Children Home to donate some drinks, milk, biscuits, clothes, other food items and an undisclosed amount of money.
Akwaaba Zorg Inc. offers specialized care, coordination of care including intensive ambulatory support and specialized pedagogical support to those in need, children with special needs and their parents as well as the vulnerable in the Dutch society.
The director of the NGO indicated her outfit's willingness to provide training to care givers and managers of the children home to build their capacity on handling children with special needs.
Doris Vidda remarked that children with special needs require special attention in order to integrate them into the vas society to prevent discrimination.
According to her, it is appropriate for Care Givers to be well trained in the handling of such children.
She hinted that after an assessment of the needs of the Home, Akwaaba Zorg may consider other support for the children at the Home.
