Car with learner tag knocks boy

A Fiat Car with a learning tag and registration number GE 4183-11 has been involved in an accident when it knocked down a 16-year old boy.

It is believed that the car with its four lady occupants was driving from Soko in Lartebiokorshie, a suburb of Accra.

Mr. Thomas Anderson, an eye witness told the Ghana News Agency that the accident happened around 1900 on Monday.

He said the car veered off the road hitting the boy, a telephone pole and a building along the road in the process.

Mr. Anderson said the telephone pole fell on the street and was yet to be lifted from the road.

He said occupants of the car escaped unhurt while the boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Mr. Anderson said the police were yet to visit the accident scene.**
