A vehicle burst into flames on the Ablekuma-Curve stretch in Accra, causing panic and heavy traffic on the busy road.
According to an adomonline.com report dated September 14, 2025, eyewitnesses said the private saloon car began emitting smoke from its engine compartment before it was quickly engulfed by fire.
“Within minutes, flames engulfed the entire vehicle, forcing the driver and passengers to flee for their lives,” an eyewitness recounted.

Fortunately, the driver and passengers escaped unhurt.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene and battled the blaze with hoses, eventually bringing it under control and preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
Although no casualties were recorded, the vehicle was completely destroyed.
The incident caused significant traffic congestion as motorists were diverted, while curious residents and onlookers gathered to witness the dramatic scene.

The GNFS has since urged drivers to regularly service their vehicles and conduct safety checks to prevent similar incidents. The burnt car was later towed away, restoring normal traffic flow.
