Car Snatchers Terrorise Odorkor Residents

Residents of South Odorkor Estate are afraid to go out at night because of an increase in car snatching incidents. Residents are now forced to park their cars before 9:00pm.

Within the past six weeks, five cars have been taken at gunpoint from their owners between 9.30 and 10.30pm at different parts of the estate.

When ADM contacted Mr. Kojo Kotoka, the assemblyman of the Otatan Electoral Area under which South Odorkor falls, he said he has been to the police station to report the issue and the police have promised to come to their aid with evening patrols.

He said he is planing to set up a community watchdog to assist the police. Plans are also underway to have checkpoints at the various entries to the estate.

Kojo Kotoka said he would call a residents meeting to seek funding to support the streets lighting project. He called on all residents of South Odorkor Estate to assist him in fighting car robberies in the area.
