The Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) has intensified its nationwide TVET Campaign Publicity Programme with a school and community sensitisation exercise at Ogbojo Presby Basic School in Adentan on September 9, 2025.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to reposition Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a first-choice pathway for young people, while rallying parents, educators, and community leaders to support skills-based learning.

The event drew participation from key stakeholders, including the Municipal Director of Education, the Honourable Assembly Member for Ogbojo, religious and traditional authorities, head teachers, guidance coordinators, and parents.

Attendees were inspired by the success stories of TVET graduates who have risen to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and professionals contributing meaningfully to national development.

Speakers at the programme underscored that TVET should not be considered a fallback option but rather a viable first choice that equips learners with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods. Parents were urged to embrace the value of technical and vocational education, as skills have become the true currency of the future.

The sensitisation session also provided an avenue for dialogue, with community members pledging support for initiatives aimed at reshaping perceptions about skills training. CTVET reiterated its commitment to carrying the campaign across the country and called on parents, teachers, community leaders, and youth groups to actively champion TVET.

According to the Commission, empowering more young Ghanaians to embrace skills development is key to unlocking brighter futures and driving national transformation.
