Member of Parliament for Sekondi constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer seems to have added a new twist to the controversial CSE debate.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Friday's edition of Peace FM’s morning show 'Kokrokoo', he said, "It is not an agenda to introduce LGBT into our educational system but it is life skills that has been introduced into the new guidelines which per evolving terminologies has been termed CSE."

The Ghana government and United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) launched the CSE programme in February this year to empower adolescents and young people to attain a Comprehensive Sexuality Education.

However, some aspects of the programme have been strongly criticised as many think it is a subtle way of introducing homosexuality in the country.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has argued that the subject content of the CSE would not introduce LGBT in the country but will rather empower school children values that would protect them from sexual harassment.
