CROP N The Official Launching Of “All – Die – Be – Die”

Public Statement By The Coalition For Responsible Opposition (CROP) ON The Official Launching Of An Npp “All – Die – Be – Die” Campaign For Power In Election 2012 With Unguided And Violent Induce Talks.

The Coalition for Responsible Opposition (CROP) wish to condemn in no uncertain terms the gross political recklessness and indecency exhibited by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo led NPP at their first election 2012 campaign rally held at James Town, Mantse Agbonaa through speeches that projected politics of violence and insults over social issues. A realization by the New Patriotic Party that a political party in opposition is a government in waiting with policy alternatives and programs geared towards the benefit of electorates is long over due.

At such events, one expects an opposition party to convince electorates with solution to issues that affect bread and butter, whiles making reference to verifiable records in support of such claims and in line with the party’s history and philosophy.
It is regrettable that the platform was rather used to vilify and insult the sitting president and all persons in government as well as inciting violence in the upcoming elections, especially among the youth and the productive men and women of the country. The NPP seems to have not learnt a thing or taken counsel from calls by the masses and all partners in governance both local and international against the use of insults, violence and intolerance in the election 2012, rather they are poised to executing the “All – Die – Be – Die” agenda of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to the latter.
It is important to bring to light the fact that Ghana as a country has only one president which symbolizes our collective authority, interest and pride. For Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo led NPP who claims to ‘believe in Ghana’ to supervise and support insults on the presidency and inciting Ghanaians to violence smacks of gross disrespect for Ghanaians. Clearly, such vituperations are harbinger for destruction of the peace we are enjoying in the country under our two decades of striving democratic dispensation. NPP must be able to show proof of their readiness to lead Ghanaians, but until then they should just allow the people to continue playing their roles as responsible citizens and not be distracted with immature campaigns, needless incitements and politics of insults.
We call on all Ghanaians to distant themselves from such incitements and eschew violence before, during and after 2012 elections; for this is our only surest way to sustaining the continuous peace we are enjoying.
As we go into this year’s election, we urge all well meaning Ghanaians and political party activists to desist from politics of insult and conducts that have the tendency to breach the peace of the country.
Thank you.
