CPP to revive all abandoned factories establish by Dr Nkrumah

Winneba(C/R), Sept. 24, GNA - The flag bearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom on Tuesday said the party would revive viable factories including the workers brigade, state farms, sugar factories and jute factories established by Dr Kwame Nkrumah to create jobs for the youth.

He reminded Ghanaians that tertiary education was free during the era of the CPP and promised to reverse to that situation, when his party came to power.

Dr Nduom said these when he addressed a well-attended mini-rally of CPP supporters and sympathizers in the Effutu Constituency at Winneba. He had earlier addressed similar rallies at Kasoa, Bawjiase and Agona Swedru, where he appealed to the people to vote the CPP into power to continue with the good work of Dr Nkrumah. Included in the campaign tour was the National Treasurer of the CPP, Mr Mike Eghan, Central Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Edu Ansah, the second Regional Vice-Chairman, Mr Isaac Johnson and the Regional Treasurer, Mrs Grace Appiah.

Dr Nduom said the CPP, which had suffered a lot of humiliation from some political parties since the overthrow of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, was now vibrant and ready to take over the administration of the nation. He said the CPP was poised to unseat the NPP Parliamentary candidate for the area and was working hard to elect a reliable candidate to contest the December elections. Mr Mike Eghan told those who were saying that the CPP could not win political power now to discard that notion and join the party to increase its numerical strength. He appealed to supporters of the party to intensify their campaign in a bid to ensure victory, adding that a vote for the CPP was a vote for peace.

The Chairman of the Effutu Constituency, Mr Gordon Afari advised members of the party to show love and respect towards one another in their quest to build a formidable front to wrestle power come December 7. 24 Sept. 08
