CPP marks 39th anniversary of Dr Nkrumah's death

Accra, April 27, GNA - The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) on

Wednesday called for a united front towards nation building and condemned

vindictive politics, which had retarded accelerated development. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday after the

Edmund N. Delle, Former Chairman of the party called for new political

culture of collaboration and co-operation among the various stakeholders. The series coincided with the 39th anniversary of the death of Osagyef= o

Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's First President. Prof Delle said the greatest legacy Ghanaians could give to the memory= of

the Founder of the nation on the 39th anniversary of his death was to emula= te

Dr Nkrumah's great sense of commitment to duty and patriotism as a

Ghanaian and an African which was demonstrated through his service to

mankind. He noted: 93Dr Kwame Nkrumah was certainly a great gift to Africa and= we

must all take inspiration from him." On the way forward for the CPP, the former Chairman and Leader who is

seeking for re-election noted: 93To build a formidable and unified party, it is

expedient for the party to understand and adopt the visions and dreams of

the late President in order to construct programmes and policies that would

be consistent with Dr Nkrumah's ideas." As part of the commemoration, the CPP led by Mr Ladi Nylander,

Chairman laid a wreath on the tomb of the first President and his wife at t= he

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.
