CPP Takes Nkrumah’s Path On His Birthday

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) marked Founder’s Day as a day of action, a day to underscore its 2012 Campaign as a community based campaign and many in the communities visited were not disappointed.

In the North of the country CPP Presidential Candidate Dr Abu Sakara addressed thousands as he moved from town to town - Kpandai, Wulensi, Bimbilla, Salaga, Tamale. Bolga.

According to Dr Sakara, the gathering which was so large signifies victory for the Convention People's Party on December 7 elections.

In Wulensi he said “This is more than a victory rally and it gives a strong indication of the strength and popularity of CPP to the People”, Dr Sakara stated.

He urged the people to continue to support the CPP and tasked them to bring onboard their relatives and friends for the Party to win the December elections.

He called on all party faithful to put in all their efforts to secure victory for the Convention People's Party for the Country to take back its road to success and develop its human resource base for the ultimate goal, which is achieving economic emancipation.

With Dr Sakara , Abu Forgor – National Organiser, Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim – National Women’s Organiser, Alhaji Sorro Northern Regional Chair of the CPP, Regional and Constituency Executives.

In the South CPP Chair Hon Samia Yaba Nkrumah led the CPP campaign to the Tema East Constituency of Accra, starting at Site 1, Community One and then to Site 20 , Community One.

Samia Nkrumah travelled the back alleyways of these communities in a door to door walkabout delivering the CPP message. Accompanied by CPP Tema East Parliamentary Candidate – Richster Nii Armah Amarfio, she asked all to honour the Osagyefo and vote for the CPP. She expressed shock at the living conditions of these communities saying that these communities were temporary communities when the CPP first built Communities 1 to 10. She said this shows how living standards and conditions of the majority has deteriorated since the CPP was in government. She walked from stall to stall, seller to seller at the main market.

She appealed to them to support the CPP and its candidate who is a hard working young man and also that CPP parliamentarians are needed in parliament to break the bitterness and bring some balance in parliament.

The CPP team in Tema included Ivor Kobbina Greenstreet – General Secretary, Dr Nii Gborbilor Fleisher - Greater Accra Regional Chairman,

Thomas Ntumey and Victor Moffat – National Campaign Managers; Dede Amanor-Wilkes – CPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma South; Nii Armah Akomfrah – Director of Communication, Ernesto Yeboah – Deputy Director of Communication, K. Appiah – Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman; Mr Paul Anaman - Greater Accra Regional Secretary; Mr Koo Mensah Frimpong - Greater Accra Regional Organiser, Leading members - Madam Lucy Anin, Yaw Adu-Larbi, Dr Kojo Arthur.

The team later went to Okaikoi South to campaign with the CPP Candidate Anita Abaidoo, aka Anita Okaikoi South, whose popularity in the constituency is palpable. Starting at Avenor the CPP Chair and the candidate sat with the cattle and ram sellers who thanked the CPP delegation for coming saying that the CPP was now following in the path of its founder Dr Nkrumah by coming to them, as nobody comes to sit with them the way the CPP Chair and Anita Abaidoo had done.

Followed by party members and teeming group of local people the CPP team then moved from street to street to the main bus terminal and then to Kaneshie Market.

The message to them was the same – honour the Osagyefo and vote for the CPP and Anita Okaikoi South, that “the CPP will make Ghana Work Again”.

Many of the youth in the area pointed to the abandoned factories in the locality asking when the CPP will come and revive them. Young teenagers shouted “Abu Sakara will win”.

Party members in the other Regions organised community events in their regions.

The observation of the Day within the community also paid tribute to the heroic forebears of the Nkrumaist tradition, who sacrificed so much to free Ghana from colonialism bondage.

Ghana Must Work Again ….Yabre !!!
