The Director of Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has been petitioned to investigate circumstances under which a murdered person has been buried without police investigations.

A concerned resident of the area who petitioned the CID Chief disclosed that the deceased on Monday someone was reportedly murdered at Amorwe, a village near Enchi under the Nyankoman Traditional Area.

According to him, one Mamadu, Smith Meisu and Donkoh reportedly went to the village and ordered for the burial of the deceased in the night without informing the District Police Commander.

He added that when the police got wind of the incident, they only arrested one person suspecting that there is an attempted cover-up by the Enchi police in the whole matter.

“I would like to petition your office to carry out thorough investigations into this murder case since the Enchi Police presence and handling of the case raises suspicion of cover-up resulting in possible compromise”, he stated.

The petitioner is further demanding explanations as to why Mamadu, Smith Meisu and Donkor who are alleged to have ordered for the burial of the deceased have still not been apprehended for questioning accusing the police in the area of preferential treatment in the discharge of their mandatory duties.

“The rate at which these individuals are acting with impunity at Enchi, I am afraid if they are not called to order immediately the police and Municipal Security Committee will aid them and such mysterious deaths and murder will continue to go on”, he stressed.
