CHRAJ calls for abolition of outmoded customs

Breman Asikuma (Central Region) - Samuel K. Amoh, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Director of the Commission of Human Right and Administrative Justice, has renewed his call on Ghanaians to do away with outmoded traditions that infringed on people's rights.

''We should do away with such customs such as widowhood rites and Trokosi,'' he said. Amoh said this at a forum organised by the Breman Asikuma branch of Ghana Tailors and Dress Makers Association.

He appealed to members of the Association to honour their tax obligations to enable the government to undertake more development projects. Kobina Fosu, Chairman of the Association, appealed to the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly to extend credit facilities to its members.
