President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the CEO Governance Compact 2026, describing it as a major framework aimed at strengthening accountability and structured collaboration between government and the private sector.
Speaking at the 2026 Ghana CEO Summit in Accra on May 28, 2026, President Mahama said the initiative would help transform engagements between government and businesses from ceremonial discussions into practical partnerships that deliver measurable results.
According to him, Ghana’s economic transformation agenda can only succeed if the public and private sectors work together in an environment built on trust, consistency, and shared responsibility.

“The relationship between government and the private sector must move beyond speeches, conferences, and ceremonial engagements. It must become a working partnership grounded in trust, policy consistency, and mutual accountability,” he stated.
President Mahama explained that the CEO Governance Compact 2026 is expected to serve as a high-level partnership framework to promote innovation, competitiveness, productivity, and accountability within the Ghanaian economy.
He noted that the compact would also ensure that discussions held at business forums translate into concrete outcomes such as increased investment, industrial growth, exports, and job creation.
As the Ghana CEO Summit marked its 10th anniversary, the President urged business leaders to invest more confidently in Ghana and support efforts aimed at expanding opportunities for the youth and strengthening the private sector.
“Ghanaians want systems that work, real opportunities, and an economy that creates hope, dignity, and prosperity,” President Mahama added.
Business leaders, policymakers, and industry players gathered at the 10th Ghana CEO Summit under the theme, “Managing Financial Sector Reforms and Industrial Growth: Driving Ghana’s Economic Transformation from Vision to Action.”
