CDS pays working visit to Burnma Camp redevelopment take-off site

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) William Agyapong, has paid a working visit to the take-off site of the Burma Camp Redevelopment Project at Medo Lines.

The CDS was received by the Director of Engineer Services, Colonel Jonas Agyei Wiafe, and the Chief Operations Officer of the Support Services Brigade, Colonel Emmanuel Appiah.

The take-off site, which spans 13.5 acres of land, currently accommodates only 36 households. However, upon completion of the redevelopment project, the area will consist of 18 residential blocks, including 12 blocks of two-bedroom units and six blocks of single-bedroom units, increasing occupancy to 258 households.

In a related development, the CDS also inspected the progress of the 12 three-storey housing blocks earmarked for the relocation of personnel who will be affected by the Burma Camp and El-Wak redevelopment projects.

The Senior Project Manager of Imperial Homes, Ernest Kwame Abanquah, indicated that the project is expected to be completed by the end of June this year.

The Burma Camp Redevelopment Project remains on course, with all arrangements in place ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for July 3, 2026.
