Five selected schools from the Antoa Township under the Kwabre East Municipality in the Ashanti Region, upon an invitation of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) William Agyapong, have successfully concluded a one-day familiarisation visit to Accra on Monday, March 16, 2026.
The 50-member delegation, led by the Asunahene of Antoa, Nana Sarkodie Dartey comprised 40 students, 5 staff members and 5 community representatives.
The students were drawn from Antoa Municipal Assembly(M/A) Primary and Junior High School, CB Mensah SDA Junior High School, Adesina M/A Basic School, and Antoa United Primary.
The delegation first witnessed the 47th ceremonial guard changing at the Jubilee House and proceeded with an interactive session with the CDS at the General Headquarters.
The session aimed at inspiring young students and bridging the gap between the students and the armed forces.
Lt Gen Agyapong used the moment to share his experiences, precepts on character development and national pride.
He urged the pupils to prioritise their education, accenting that academic discipline is the foundation for future success.
He further advised the children to anchor their ambitions in faith and obedience to authority.
The team had the opportunity to be conducted on a tour at the 153 Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment to learn its role in national defence.

The tour provided the young learners with notable firsthand look at military equipment including a passenger ride experience in the armoured vehicles.
The delegation also witnessed a spectacular silent drill display of military precision.
The Asunahene of Antoa, Nana Sarkodie Dartey expressed appreciation for the warm reception, describing the experience as the first of such kind gesture extended by an indigene of Antoa.
He stated that the visit will be forever etched in the memories of all, especially the pupils.
