Businessman Steals Lady’s Panties

A 45-year-old businessman, Yaw Atsiade, who allegedly stole a woman’s panties, with the view of using them as a charm to win her love, is in trouble with the law.

He was arrested by the Amasaman police on Tuesday. Briefing The Spectator newspaper, the crime officer at Amasaman Police Station, Assistant Superintendent of Police R.C. Totimmeh, said Yaw Atsiade, a resident of Ashalaja, a suburb of Accra, proposed love to a 35-year-old lady (name withheld) about a year ago but she refused.

The crime officer said Atsiade persisted and harassed the lady for her love, but she continued to turn him away. About a month ago, the lady realised that somebody had broken into her room and taken away only her panties (used and unused) which she kept in a small bag.

The lady conducted her own investigations and it revealed that, it was Atsiade who stole the panties, with the view of using them to win her heart. ASP Tottimeh said the lady reported the case to the Unit Committee members of Ashalaja and when Atsiade was confronted, he admitted stealing the panties but could not produce them.

He said the unit committee fined Atsiade GH¢70 and asked him to produce the panties within two weeks but he failed to do so. ASP Tottimeh said the case was reported to the police and Atsiade was arrested.

He said Atsiade would be charged for stealing.
