Bunkpurugu MP goes to rescue of ‘stranded’ BECE candidates

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bunkpurugu Constituency, Solomon Boar, has facilitated the movement of candidates who could not join their counterparts to write the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday to write Tuesday’s papers in Bunkpurugu in the Northern Region.

The MP, who is also the Deputy Northern Region Minister, came to the rescue of the candidates after his attention was drawn to it.

Confirming efforts by the MP to 3news.com, the Assembly member of Kumpatiak, Buut Yoogarin, said the 228 students were registered to write at the Bunkpurugu Examination Centre but could not afford to commute daily for the examination for various reasons.

The candidates could not go to write the examination at Bunkpurugu on Monday for fear of their lives as a result of a protracted chieftaincy conflict area.

Mr Yoogarin said Mr. Boar is personally bearing the expenditure involved.

The students are from three junior high schools namely Gbingbamoni JHS, Kambadiak Central JHS and Guangbiang JHS.
