Staff of Bui Power Authority (BPA) who have wards at some three international schools recently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic are to self-quarantine.

They are to self-quarantine from Monday, March 16 for two weeks.

This was contained in a memo issued from the Chief Executive Officer to all staff on Friday.

It comes after Ghana confirmed two cases of the deadly disease.

One was a Ghanaian diplomat with the United Nations who had travelled from Turkey.

The other is a staff of the Norwegian Embassy.

The memo said staff who have been in contact with any UNDP and UNESCO staff must also proceed on self-quarantine.

So far, staff of the UN in Ghana have been asked to work from home.

The Norwegian embassy as well as closely-situated Dutch Embassy has also since been shut down as staff have been asked to work from home.

The international schools shut down are Ghana International School, German Swiss School and Lincoln Community School.

“Staff who fall in that category should submit their names to the Human Resource Unit by close of day March 13, 2020,” the memo sighted by 3news.com advised.

“We wish to entreat all staff that BPA is always committed in ensuring a safe working environment.”
