Aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Bryan Acheampong, has congratulated the NPP-USA New York Chapter on its 33rd anniversary, describing the milestone as evidence of the Chapter’s sustained role in supporting the Party’s growth over three decades.
The New York Chapter, established as one of the earliest diaspora branches of the NPP, commemorated its anniversary under the theme “33 Years of Devoted Service, Patriotism and Commitment: Reigniting the Base, Rebuilding with Our Core Values in Unity.”
In a goodwill message, Dr Acheampong praised the Chapter’s members for their loyalty and contributions to the Party’s activities, noting that such support has been vital in strengthening the NPP’s presence beyond Ghana’s borders.
“Your 33 years of devoted service stand as proof that the NPP is more than a political organization – it is a family bound by values, patriotism, and commitment to Ghana’s progress,” his message read.
Dr Acheampong used the occasion to connect the Chapter’s anniversary to his wider message of rebuilding and unifying the Party.
He argued that a renewed and united NPP would be necessary for electoral competitiveness in 2028 and subsequent elections.
“I am offering myself to lead because I believe the NPP must rebuild from within, reigniting the base and restoring confidence. Unity is not just a theme; it is the foundation for victory in 2028 and beyond,” he said.
Positioning himself within the Party’s leadership race, the Abetifi legislator cited his record in public office, entrepreneurship, and policy development.
He pointed to past initiatives in food security, youth engagement, infrastructure delivery, and financial stabilization as evidence of practical experience.
Beyond the domestic agenda, Dr Acheampong stressed the continuing relevance of the diaspora to the Party’s fortunes.
He argued that contributions from members abroad, whether through fundraising, logistics, or advocacy, remain central to the Party’s organizational strength.
“The diaspora has always been the lifeblood of our Party, and your sacrifices have helped sustain us. Together, we must channel this strength into reigniting our base and rebuilding the NPP into the unified force that our nation needs,” he noted.
In concluding his remarks, Dr Acheampong tied his appeal to the anniversary’s theme, calling on members to treat the milestone as a reminder of the need to align with the Party’s founding values.
“This anniversary is not just about celebrating the past; it is a charge for the future. Let us commit ourselves to rebuilding with our core values in unity,” he said.
The anniversary provided a platform for reflection on the Chapter’s contributions and an opportunity for aspirants such as Dr Acheampong to outline how they intend to reposition the NPP for the years ahead.
