Bryan Acheampong takes credit for ghost name purge, long runway projects

An aspiring flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2028 election, Bryan Acheampong, has claimed ownership of some key initiatives undertaken by the previous NPP government.

Speaking to a group of party members in a video shared by Edhub on X, September 22, 2025, Acheampong challenged his opponents to demonstrate their own contributions.

He questioned his competitors, asking, "Those who are competing with me, go to their communities and find out how their ideas have translated into action."

He then listed a number of significant projects and policies he attributes to himself.

"The biggest hotel in Africa was my idea. The airport with the longest runway was my idea. Removal of over 50,000 ghost names from the payroll through my software was my idea. I solved big problems that Ghana confronted," Acheampong stated.
