Management of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) have promised to donate ten thousand Ghana cedis to support the company's Ladies Association, BOSTLA to cater for 25 women diagnosed of breast cancer.
The Deputy Managing Director of BOST made this known at this year's BOSTLA breast cancer awareness celebration under the theme'Protecting the Corporate Woman for Higher Productivity'.
According to Mr. Moses Asem the donation will help these women acquire the mammogram service and screening tools used to detect and diagnose breast cancer.
He said, "Management will donate 10,000 cedis to cater for 25 women acquire the mammogram service. I am happy myself because I was able to save a woman with cancer although she had her two breast evaporated, I'm so grateful to the medical team at the Ho regional hospital to help her survive."
Summing up his speech, the Deputy MD urged men to in various ways assist their spouses detect any changes in their breast early.
According to the President of BOSTLA, the team will extend helping hands to ladies at universities, the market and widely to create a better awareness of breast cancer.
"We are protecting the corporate woman in other to perform a good job to help the country. It's good to detect the symptoms early and get treated that is why we will be extending our reach to the universities, the market women, farmers and hawkers to educate them about breast cancer," said Miss Lily Awuah.
As part of the program, the team held a free breast screening program for women and allowed survivors share stories on how they got diagnosed. This year's event was attended by representatives from MPA, COSMOS Energy and Ghana Gas.
BOSTLA is an association of women who are determined at creating and supporting women with peculiar needs to help them live a meaningful and fulfilled life.
