Brakwa Circuit Church inaugurated

Brakwa (C/R), March 4, GNA - The Brakwa Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, was last Saturday inaugurated with the Very Reverend Mercy Osei as the first Superintendent Minister.

The Right Reverend Jeremiah A. Morrison, the Winneba Diocesan Bishop of the Church, who performed the inaugural ceremony noted that that the attainment of the statues of a circuit was not an end itself but is rather the beginning of being responsible for ones own affairs. He said there were many challenges ahead and expressed the hope that the people would be able to meet them to embark on evangelism in the area.

Bishop Morrison commended Very Rev. Osei who fought for the circuit status and said with faith in Christ and all hands on deck the people could make it.

The Lay Chairman of the Winneba Diocese, Mr Theophilus Kow Anyanful, said the inauguration of the Church at Brakwa as the 15th Circuit showed that the Diocese was growing.

He urged the Clergy and members of the Church to unit to move the circuit forward.

The Very Reverend Daniel D. Sintim, Superintendent Minister of the Breman Asikuma Circuit, from which the Brakwa Circuit was carved expressed appreciation for the pioneering role played by the Rev Osei and the leaders of the new Circuit for their vision, hard work and commitment.

The Reverend John Kow Addison in a sermon on the theme "is your God dependable? The God we serve is able" called on members of the Church to count on Jesus for the spiritual power to open more societies. The Synod Secretary of the Diocese, the Very Reverend Ebenezer K. Abaka-Wilson assisted Bishop Morrison during the inaugural ceremony.
