She said the suspect had been arrested and arraigned before a Takoradi Circuit Court for prosecution.

ASP Adiku said the tragedy happened around 1410 hours on Sunday Oct.27, when the deceased was entering his room but stumbled on an object at the entrance and fell down.

Suddenly, Tana, the son, appeared on the scene and stabbed the father with a piercing knife on the left arm which entered the left rib.

She said the deceased shouted for help, attracting the attention of the daughter, Alice Tana, to the scene only to find the father lying in a pool of blood in pain.

The deceased was rushed to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital but died a few hours later on admission around 1700 hours the same day.

The corpse had since been deposited at the hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.

According to the daughter of the deceased, the father did not have any conflict with the son therefore it came as a big shock to the entire family when the brother acted savagely and suspected that her brother might be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
