Book on Good Governance launched

Accra, Jan.7, GNA - A 96-page book "Good Governance Through Democracy-Three Years of Positive Change" depicting achievements of the various Ministries was launched in Accra on Wednesday.

Nana Akomea, Minister of Information, who launched the book said in addition to being used as 'one-stop-shop' for students and researchers it offered the opportunity to the citizenry to compare the promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government against its achievements so far.

"It is an attempt to crystallise in one book, progress made in the various President's Special Initiatives (PSI) and the government's five priority areas", he said.

The book, published by the Information Services Department, was launched at the third People's Assembly held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The Assembly, which would be replicated in all the 10 Regions, was instituted by President John Agyekum Kufuor to create an annual platform for a cross-section of Ghanaians to interact with the Executive to exchange views and ideas on the direction of government policies and programmes.

It climaxed activities marking 11 years of the Fourth Republic and Three Years of Positive Change, which was celebrated under the theme: "Good Governance Through Democracy-Three Years of Positive Change".
