Body found in GIA's undercarriage

A STOWAWAY has been found dead in the undercarriage of a jet travelling to Britain from Ghana.

The man, whose name is not known, is believed to have secretly boarded the Ghana International GU101 flight in Accra.

But he is thought to have died during the 3,200 mile journey and was found by workers at Gatwick shortly after 7am today.

A source said: "Engineers were carrying out routine checks on the aircraft after all the passengers had disembarked and found a body.

"It's not unheard of for stowaways to attempt to board flights to the UK and tragedies like this do happen from time to time.

"But it's always a deeply shocking and harrowing experience for any airport worker who stumbles across something of this kind."

A Sussex Police spokeswoman confirmed cops were investigating.

She added: "London Gatwick Airport is working closely with Sussex Police to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic incident."
