Board of Governors commends school staff, students.

Busunya (B/A) Feb. 5, GNA - The Board of Governors of Busunya Senior Secondary School in Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo have commended the staff and students of the school for the excellent performance in last year's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations. The school obtained 98.3 per cent as 59 out of the 60 candidates it presented for the examinations were successful. Busunya is a farming community about 20 kilometres away from Nkoranza.

Mr. Musa Donkor, Chairman of the Board made the commendation on behalf of the Board at a meeting in the town.

He expressed the Board's appreciation for the efforts of the staff and called on the continuing students to learn hard enough to maintain the good record set by their predecessors.

The board chairman urged the staff not to relent in their efforts but to work harder to achieve better results in subsequent examinations. Mr Donkor pledged the continued support of the PTA to promote the development of the school.

Mr. Abubakari Ankomah, headmaster, announced that the school took the 10th position in the results out of the 62 senior secondary schools in the region and placed 154 out of the 476 in the country. He announced that the school would as from next year introduce business studies following approval by the Ghana Education Service. The headmaster thanked the District Assembly for providing two-unit staff bungalows to help ease the accommodation problem facing the staff of the school.

Mr Ankomah appealed to the Assembly to provide the school with a hostel and a three-classroom block to enhance enrolment.
