Bluecrest University inaugurates SRC executives

The management of Bluecrest University College has inaugurated the Student Representative Council(SRC) executives of the College to steer the affairs of the institution.

The University also inducted the Business Students Association (BUSA) into office.

The SRC executive were; Mr Mustapha Zakhari Nasomah, President, Ms Marimma Maman Ibrahim, Vice President, Mr Joaquin Ebiole Nome, General Secretary, Ms Vivian Okwei, Financial Secretary, Mr Cudjoe Andrew Prince, and Organising Secretary.

The rest; are Ms Adibe Blessing, Treasurer, Ms Oko Annette Rita, Women’s Commissioner and Ms Ukeni Uloma Violet as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).
The executive of the Business Students Association are; Mr Derrick Nii Kpakpo Addo, President, Ms Rebecca Twumwaa Appiah Kubi, Vice President, Ms Hawa Keita, Secretary, Ms Patience Ama, Organising Secretary, Mr Logi Lomingui, PRO, Ms Gertrude Finoude, Treasurer and Mr Joseph Klu Sowah, Finance Officer
Prof Sunil Roy, Rector of the University congratulated the newly elected SRC executive and reminded them about their mandate to represent the interest of the students and not their parochial interest.

“Honour your seat and be abreast with the happenings of the school to bridge the gap between management and students to avoid any unhealthy agitation from the student body”, he added.

The Rector said it was important for the executive to have faith and trust their positions to consult the students or any programmes for mutual understanding since they would be held accountable by the students and urged them to abide by the tenets of the University’s constitution to run the institution in an efficient and effective manner.

Mr Sujith Jayaprakash, the Registrar of the University urged the SRC Executive and BUSA to plan as a team to fight for the interest of the students and be innovative and come out with visible projects to serve as achievement.

Mr Nasomah on behalf of the SRC Executive thanked all who in diverse ways supported them to be elected as leaders of the University and pledged to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
He promised to involve the students in all decisions made concerning the welfare of the students, and ensure effective communication between students, and administration which had been a gap.

“We are going to present proposals to review some of our courses, and also improve on the ones we are not satisfied with. All of these efforts are meant to provide students the best possible education in their particular disciplines with a special emphasis on skills acquisition and student engagements in classroom”, he added.

Mr Nicholas Kwesi Tettey, the President of Bluecrest Alumni donated a desktop computer to the Alumni Board to facilitate the work of Alumni.
Prof Roy presented an undisclosed amount of money as seed money to the Alumni Board for its programmes and activities.
