A blue-coloured substance believed to be premix fuel is on sale in filling stations in Elmina in the Central region.
The development is reportedly causing a stir in the area as drivers fear the substance could damage the engines of their vehicles.
Meanwhile, fisher folks in the area are also threatening to demonstrate over the matter as they suspect the fuel meant for them has been diverted to the filling stations.
The Elmina Police commander Superintendent Godfred Asare who confirmed the story to Starr News' Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour said the police had to put a hold on the sale of the product until officials of the National Petroleum Commission (NPA) confirmed that it was wholesome and had no adverse effect on car engines.
