Blaming NPP alone for economic woes is unfair – Akosua Manu

Akosua Manu, a former Deputy Director of Communications at the Office of former First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has defended the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) handling of the economy, arguing that external factors significantly contributed to Ghana’s economic challenges.

She dismissed claims that the country’s economic difficulties were solely due to mismanagement by the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

“The reality is that external shocks played a major role in what we are facing today. To blame everything on the government without considering global factors is unfair,” she stated.

Manu emphasized that despite the economic downturn, the government took decisive steps to cushion Ghanaians by implementing policies to stabilize key sectors.

She highlighted initiatives that supported businesses, job creation efforts, and interventions in the education and health sectors.

“We did not sit back and watch things collapse. The government worked tirelessly to ensure that Ghanaians were protected from the worst effects of these global crises,” Manu, a former Parliamentary candidate for Adenta, added during an interview on Metro TV.
