Black Queens crowned UAE Pink Ladies Cup champions

Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Ghana Black Queens, have been crowned champions of the Pink Ladies Cup after an impressive run in the preparatory tournament.

The Queens secured the title following 4-0 back-to-back dominant victories over Hong Kong women's national football team and Russia women's national football team.

Their final match against the Tanzania women’s national football team was later canceled, after which tournament organizers officially presented the trophy to Ghana at the team’s hotel on Friday, March 6, 2026, confirming them as champions.

Ghana emphatically opened their campaign, dismantling Hong Kong 4–0 in their first game.

The commanding performance set the tone for the competition, as the Queens displayed attacking sharpness and defensive discipline.

They followed it up with another dominant showing in their second match, thrashing Russia 4–0 to seal their place at the top of the standings.

The eight goals scored across two matches highlighted the team’s attacking efficiency while their defence remained unbreeched throughout the tournament.

Forward Doris Boaduwaa emerged as the tournament’s top scorer, finishing with three goals and playing a key role in Ghana’s attacking dominance.

In goal, Cynthia Konlan was equally outstanding, keeping two clean sheets in two games to earn the Best Goalkeeper award.

The tournament formed part of Ghana’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which has been postponed and will now take place in July 2026.

For the Black Queens, winning the Pink Ladies Cup not only adds another trophy to their collection but also gives a significant confidence boost as they prepare for the continental tournament later this year.
